Hutto ISD staff outline district improvement plan aligned with strategic plan

Miss Swanson and district staff presented the district improvement planning process and how campus improvement plans are being aligned to four district priorities: academic acceleration, talent and retention, stakeholder engagement and financial stewardship.
Miss Swanson and district staff reviewed the district improvement planning timeline and emphasized that the district improvement plan is intended to align tightly with the board-adopted strategic plan.
"In accordance with Texas Education Code, the board of trustees adopts comprehensive district goals, and, the board of trustees annually approves district and campus performance objectives," Miss Swanson said, explaining that some goals are state-required while others are district priorities. She highlighted four district priorities and explained that campuses adapt strategies to local needs while remaining aligned to district objectives.
Presenters described a multi-month process: strategic planning work in December through May, leadership retreats and committee work through the summer, campus-level strategy writing in July–August, and formative reviews scheduled four times during the school year. Trustees and staff said the campus improvement plans are living documents: strategies can be adjusted when data indicate revisions are needed.
Board members asked about monitoring, coaching for new teachers, and parent engagement; staff referenced mentorship, instructional coaches and campus advisory committees as implementation supports.
