Eden Central recognizes class of 2026 Top 10 at March board meeting

Bill McDonough, principal of Eden Middle School and High School, presented the district's Top 10 students from the class of 2026 and invited each to introduce themselves, name family members in attendance and share college plans.
"My name is Bill McDonough, and I'm proud to serve as the principal of Eden Middle School and High School," McDonough said before introducing the students. Students named institutions they plan to attend and their academic interests: Brandon Boycek said he plans to major in civil engineering and is considering Slippery Rock, UB or RIT; Haley Barrett said she will attend Mercyhurst University to study biochemistry; Elijah Qi said he is attending the University of Rochester to major in statistics; Silas and Emerson Canisto said they will attend University at Albany (biochemistry; actuarial and mathematical science); Lucy Heffernan said she will study architecture and planning at the University at Buffalo; Benjamin Agle plans to attend SUNY Agricultural & Technical college for agricultural equipment technology; and Sierra Clark plans to attend Seton Hill University for exercise science.
The board and administrators praised the students' academic performance and extracurricular participation. A board member noted the class had a high proportion of students with strong GPAs and encouraged continued focus on problem-solving as the students move into college and careers.
