Students from Mr. Carusone's 7th- and 8th-grade elective classes presented work on the Magnolia Project as part of the Presentations/Recognitions portion of the meeting.
Principals provided school-by-school highlights: Emily Todd (John B. Riebli Elementary) reported a Lawrence Hall of Science engineering assembly, a Chinese New Year parade, completion of One School, One Book and a Screenagers presentation for grades 4–6; Kelli Osorio (Mark West Elementary) described teacher implementation of a new hands-on science program and a Mission and Vision update; Patrick Eagle (San Miguel Elementary) noted field trips to the Academy of Sciences and Golden Gate Bridge and a canned food drive that filled five barrels; and Lisa Chapman (Mark West Charter) reported an 8th-grade city trip and a Giants stadium geometry session.
