The Anthony Independent School District Board of Trustees on Dec. 17 heard a series of recognitions for students and staff. High school principal Sandra Espinoza introduced Delilah Nanez as the district's Phase 2 GATE scholarship candidate and introduced Mayte Brakhage as the high school Employee of the Month.
Middle‑school principal Veronica Ordonez, along with Coach Puga and Coach Montanez, presented the 7th‑grade girls basketball All‑Star participants to the trustees. The recognitions were presented early in the agenda after Board Vice President Anabel Vela moved to reorder the items so the student and staff recognitions would be heard before other business.
