Alex Bass was elected president of the Academy Independent School District Board of Trustees during the board's May 13 reorganizational session.
Trustees voted unanimously (7–0) to elect Bass as president on a motion by Amy Adcock and a second by Jennifer Burnett. In the same series of motions the board elected Dana White as vice president (moved by Burnett, seconded by Bobby Poncik) and Jennifer Burnett as board secretary (moved by Poncik, seconded by Kacee Nabours). Voting detail recorded in the minutes shows each motion carried 7–0.
The meeting also completed the canvass of the May 2026 board election and swore in the two elected trustees. Dr. Calvin Eshbaugh presented election results and recognized Alex Bass and Timothy Titsworth; both signed the Statement of Officer and took the Oath of Office. The board approved the canvass by motion from Bobby Poncik, seconded by Dana White (vote 7–0).
The reorganizational votes followed remarks recognizing outgoing service by Dr. Eshbaugh, who the minutes note has served 15 years on the board. The changes take effect immediately, with the board continuing routine business following the officer elections.
