The board opened its Dec. 11 meeting with recognitions for students and staff across the district.
Superintendent Glen Hill recognized Holland Magallanes, Payce Neal, Bergen Schniers, Aliana Garza, Jay Holder and Holley Martin for placing first in the 4‑H Food Challenge. Ollie Hart recognized Preslee Thornton and Bowen Holder for Academic and Character Excellence. Joanna Fullingim recognized Marcy Kurklin for Outstanding Dedication and Excellence in Instruction at the Elementary Campus; Ollie Hart recognized Trisha Burrell for the Middle School; and Tate Albright recognized Bilinda Prater for the High School Campus.
In other highlights, the Middle School Student Council purchased Christmas gifts for families in need and a teacher partnered with local banks on a financial‑literacy unit, both items noted in the principal reports.
