The Board approved several student travel requests during the Jan. 21 meeting. The High School Robotics team (Team 2011) was authorized to travel to Tridelphia, West Virginia from Jan. 29–31, 2026; the packet listed a total event cost of about $3,980 funded through team dues, fundraising and donations and named two approved staff chaperones. The motion passed 5–0.
The Board also approved a High School Orchestra trip to New York City (March 23–26, 2027) that includes a performance at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and a longer Costa Rica tour (March 27–April 4, 2027) with an EF educational tour itinerary and stated inclusions for lodging, most meals and guided activities. Administrators noted the orchestra and Costa Rica trips include performance and learning components; district staff said trip rosters, medical permissions and academic make‑up plans will be handled via established procedures.
