At the Jan. 7 organizational meeting, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education adopted a comprehensive set of standing authorizations for the superintendent and the treasurer/CFO. The resolution grants the Treasurer/CFO authority to invest district funds under Section 135.09 O.R.C., to request tax advances under Section 321.340 O.R.C., and to approve blanket purchase orders "up to a maximum of $150,000." It also appropriates a $20,000 Service Fund and sets meal reimbursement at $50 per day.
The resolution further authorized the Treasurer/CFO to sign checks (or use a facsimile), designated the Treasurer/CFO to attend public-records training under Section 149.43(E)(1) of the Ohio Revised Code, and granted the Superintendent authority to hire personnel pending final board approval and to act as purchasing agent and appeal officer for out-of-school suspensions. The motion to approve the standing authorizations was made by Lisa Galek, seconded by Eva O'Mara, and carried 4-0 (one absence).
