Dr. Catherine presented the district’s required TISA accountability report and asked the board to review it before public release. She said the district has three goals required or recommended by state guidance: 70% proficiency in 3rd-grade English language arts by the 2029–30 school year; a new goal of 65% proficiency in 8th-grade math by 2029–30; and a target that 65% of 12th graders meet Tennessee’s college-and-career readiness criteria by 2029–30. She noted the district posted a one-year increase of 1.1% in 3rd-grade ELA last year and plans targeted funding for teacher and student supports.
The presenter said the district will release a QR code and an online survey to collect community input and will bring back the report, with community feedback, for board approval at the next meeting. "Each year, we are required to submit a TISA accountability report to the state," she said. The board will have an opportunity to suggest edits before formal approval at the following meeting.
The district encouraged residents to use the QR survey or email the presenter with feedback; staff will compile comments and include them with the finalized report to the state.
