The Del Mar Union Elementary Governing Board convened a special governance workshop on Feb. 4, 2026. Governing Board President Alan Kholos called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the board approved the agenda on a motion by Alan Kholos, seconded by Katherine Fitzpatrick; the clerk’s minutes record the motion as carrying with Ayes from Katherine Fitzpatrick, Gee Wah Mok, Alan Kholos and Bill Porter (Doug Rafner was not present for the vote).
District staff led a multi‑topic presentation on DMUSD budget priorities and multi‑year projections. Assistant Superintendent of Business Services Chris Delehanty and Director of Fiscal Services Sarah Smart outlined the budget development process, fiscal calendar, stakeholder engagement plan and current and projected reserve balances to frame upcoming planning choices. The meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
