Anthony ISD honors students, staff and community partners at Nov. 19 board meeting

Board recognized middle- and elementary-school students who mastered STAAR reading and math, named Nancy Barraza Employee of the Month, heard that Project 15:11 will serve 40 families, and accepted an Emergence Health Network award for district mental-health training.
The board opened its Nov. 19 meeting with several recognitions highlighting student achievement, staff service and community partnerships.
Mrs. Veronica Ordonez and Mr. Jorge Reyes presented middle- and elementary-school students who mastered STAAR Reading and Math. Mr. Reyes also introduced Nancy Barraza as the Elementary School Support Person (Employee) of the Month. Ms. Melissa Leos introduced Partners in Education for Project 15:11, which will provide 40 families with food and blankets this year. Superintendent Dr. Oscar Troncoso presented an Emergence Health Network Behavioral Health Hero Award recognizing AISD and Dr. Troncoso for providing Mental Health First Aid to the region.
