Summary
The board presented Rita Renteria as September Support Person of the Month and awarded Elizabeth Weaver the 2025 Heroes for Children plaque for SBOE District 1. Presentations were made by Rene Ramirez and Melissa Leos, respectively.
At the Sept. 17 meeting the board recognized Rita Renteria as the Support Person of the Month; Rene Ramirez, Maintenance and Transportation Manager, presented her to the board. Shortly after, Melissa Leos, CIS Director, introduced volunteer Elizabeth Weaver as the 2025 Heroes for Children winner for State Board of Education District 1 and presented a plaque.
The recognitions occurred early in the meeting; the minutes note the presentations and that the audience was allowed to exit after the volunteer award ceremony. No formal votes were required for the recognitions.
