Anthony Independent School District trustees voted Nov. 19 to adopt an updated Fund Balance Resolution that sets a formal target for the district's operating reserves.
The board approved Motion 4601, moved by Trustee Maria Garcia and seconded by Trustee Sylvia Chavez. The resolution states that the district "shall maintain a yearly unassigned fund balance in the General Operating Fund equal to 85 days of the total operating expenditures," establishing a working-capital margin to address emergencies without borrowing. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of six in favor and one absence.
