The board approved the purchase of Red Rover Attendant software for a cost of $7,800 after staff described onboarding and yearly subscription fees. Administrators said the purchase includes an onboarding fee and an annual subscription; the platform can send both email and text notifications to substitutes and is used by several neighboring districts.
"I need a motion to approve the purchase of Red Rover Attendant Software for a cost of $7,800 as submitted," the chair said before trustees voted to approve the purchase by voice vote. Staff explained the system allows teachers to set preferred and do-not-contact substitute lists, enables building-level targeting, and resends unfilled requests every 24 hours until a substitute accepts. The district plans to onboard substitutes year one with coordinator oversight, then transition routine management to building offices the following year.
