The board approved the consent agenda and then moved through personnel actions that included administrative term contracts and multiple principal appointments.
Dr. Rivera read the appointments and introduced newly named principals. "Ms. Donnell is returning to Smith now to serve as principal," the superintendent said, summarizing Donnell's 13‑year district career and experience. Nicole Donnell spoke briefly, thanking the board and describing Smith Elementary as "home" where she began her career.
The board also approved Kelsey Baxter as principal of Bonnie Gentry Elementary and Caitlin Brant as principal of Florence Elementary, each introduced with summaries of experience and training. Several other hires and administrative assignments were announced, including a new academic dean at North Mesquite High School and a coordinator for special education.
