Presenter details dual-credit makeup at Hutto center and new state FAST support for some students

Mr. Bozon said 29% of students at the Hutto center are dual-credit and about 61% are Hutto ISD residents; he described a state FAST reimbursement of $55 per credit hour for students on free and reduced lunch and noted dual-credit students are not Title IV eligible.
Mr. Bozon said the Hutto center serves a higher share of dual-credit students than the Temple College district average and that a majority of center enrollees are Hutto ISD residents.
"...we're about, 19%, dual credit overall as an entire college district, but 29% of the students that are in the East Williamson County Higher Education Center here in Hutto are, dual credit, about 71% are traditional," Mr. Bozon said. He added that roughly "61% of the students taking classes, at the center here in Hutto are Hutto ISD residents."
On supports, Mr. Bozon said the district covers books and peripheral fees; for students on free and reduced lunch a state FAST program reimburses about $55 per credit hour. He also noted dual-credit students generally cannot access Title IV federal aid because they have not graduated high school, and that Temple College has used institutional TPEG dollars previously to support dual-credit needs.
