Mr. Bozon, introduced by Mr. Steed to the Hutto ISD board, presented the recommended budget and proposed tax rate for the East Williamson County Higher Education Center and said the branch campus maintenance tax has produced surpluses the last two years.
"We anticipate a surplus, from the conclusion of fiscal year 20 24, of about $550,000," Mr. Bozon said, and he described separate reserve accounts that the center can use for Hutto-specific capital and operational needs. He said the branch campus maintenance tax funds are restricted to operations at the Hutto center and are not allocated to broader district expenditures.
Mr. Bozon said the Temple College Board of Trustees submits a recommended budget and tax rate and the Hutto ISD Board levies, collects and remits the tax back to the college; spending must follow the approved budget. He stressed that the recent 2023 MOU amendment broadened allowable uses to align with the Education Code and expressly to permit certain capital improvements.
The presentation concluded with a short question-and-answer period; Board members asked about scholarship support for dual-credit students and projection assumptions used in revenue modeling. No public comments were recorded and the special-called meeting adjourned at 05:47.
