Band Director Mrs. Essary told trustees the trip would include performance in the Disneyland parade and that the band is working with band boosters and fundraising to support attendance.
Mrs. Essary estimated about 60 student travelers and 12–15 parent chaperones would participate. The motion to approve was made by Trustee Alex Bass and seconded by Trustee Jennifer Burnett; the vote was unanimous (7–0). No district funding or explicit scholarship amounts were specified during the presentation.
