Assistant Superintendent Austin Crawley told the board that Elementary will conduct two fire drills a month to comply with the fire marshal; a drill was scheduled for Aug. 28. He said the district has implemented Perry Weather to monitor the UIL Wet Bulb Globe Requirement and listed 17 mandatory staff trainings, including youth suicide awareness/prevention/postvention, sexual misconduct and harassment prevention, human‑trafficking awareness, email and messaging safety, and child abuse identification and reporting.
Crawley said copies of Chapter 247 (Educator's Code of Ethics) of the Texas Administrative Code were provided to trustees and that both the employee handbook and substitute handbook were reviewed with the board. No action was required on these items during the meeting.
