Bartlett ISD trustees approve routine business, donations and declare intent to use 'disaster pennies' provision

The Bartlett Independent School District Board of Trustees on Aug. 26 approved routine business and several district measures, voting unanimously on motions to pay bills, accept donations, renew unemployment compensation coverage and adopt a tax‑rate posture for 2024‑25.
Vice‑President Zachary Buchhorn moved to approve payment of the bills and the minutes from the regular meeting; Sheri Braun seconded and the motion passed 6‑0. The board accepted donations of $500 for FFA and $500 for FCCLA from the Bartlett Area Youth Fair Boosters (motion by Buchhorn; second by Steven Wentrcek; passed 6‑0). The board also approved the 2024‑25 TASB Risk Management Fund Unemployment Compensation Renewal (moved by Braun; second by Buchhorn; passed 6‑0) and a sign‑on incentive pay for new employees (moved by Braun; second by Pablo Solorio; passed 6‑0).
On a separate vote, trustees approved a resolution "to declare the board's intention to access 'disaster pennies' as authorized by Texas Tax Code Section 26.042(e) in adopting its tax rate for 2024‑2025." The motion, moved by Buchhorn and seconded by Pablo Solorio, passed 6‑0. The minutes record the board then set the next regular meeting for Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
No budget amendments were recorded in the public minutes for the meeting. The minutes show Member Randy Hale was not present for the session.
