Board Member Josh Winter moved to approve the adoption of the proposed budget for the 2025–2026 school year; Jacie Ferguson seconded the motion and all members present voted in favor.
The budget adoption followed a public hearing on the proposed budget and tax rate. Superintendent Jon Hartgraves presented the local property value survey that informed revenue estimates. At subsequent votes the board approved a maintenance and operations rate of $0.6822 and an interest and sinking rate of $0.30, producing a combined total tax rate of $0.9822 for 2025–2026. Each resolution was moved, seconded and recorded as passing with all members present voting yea. The motions were recorded in the meeting minutes as unanimous among the five members in attendance; one member, Tommy Keeter, was absent. The board set the fiscal framework for the coming school year and will implement the adopted budget and rates as required by district procedures.
