Homeschool families urge Aransas Pass ISD to allow UIL participation

Two homeschooled students, 12-year-old Millie Lusk and 14-year-old Kylie Poteet, described personal experience in local sports and training. Millie said, "Sports are a big part of my life and helped me grow, not just as an athlete, but as a person," and asked for the opportunity to practice and play with Aransas Pass teams. Kylie told trustees she wants "to compete as well as belong," and asked the board to allow homeschool students to follow the same rules as in-school athletes.
