Director of Curriculum Heather Waugh opened the Aransas Pass Independent School District strategic roundtable on Feb. 9, 2026, and described district-level curriculum and instruction supports aimed at boosting student growth. Waugh said the district "transitioned instructional coaches from FES and CMES to ACBMS and CMES in December," and outlined ongoing professional development and monitoring efforts.
Waugh told trustees the district is conducting monthly PTE training for new employees, rolling out a K–12 literacy framework and conducting district learning walks with campus and district staff. She also cited progress monitoring tools in use at elementary and middle campuses, noting IXL instruction and other data practices are part of the district's approach to identifying students who need targeted supports.
