Superintendent reports police chief resignation; district readies vulnerability and intruder-detection audits

In a separate Police Chief Report, Dedri Hafer said the Emergency Operations Plan had been submitted to the School Safety Center with two minor corrections, which were made, and the plan "has since been approved." Hafer also reported that safety reporting is now being handled in Sentinel, state training requirements have increased, and parking presents security challenges. She told trustees the district faces a scheduled Vulnerability Assessment audit on Monday, Oct. 27, and an unannounced Intruder Detection Audit this year; a T-COLE audit may also occur. The minutes note a required waiver for Guardians to act as law enforcement in the absence of a chief will be addressed at the next meeting.
Trustees did not take action on personnel or security items at this meeting; staff will bring required waivers and any policy items back to the board as needed.
