Representatives from Baird-Williams told trustees that multiple audio/visual items had been omitted from the original bid documents, several items were bid incorrectly and one item was more expensive than anticipated. "The contractor and architect would like to use contingency funds to pay for the issues," the minutes record.
District staff said additional costs should not fall entirely to contingency and asked the architect and contractor to absorb some expenses. No specific dollar amounts or budget impacts were presented. Courtney Lewis moved to table consideration of the addendum until the architect and contractor provide more information; Diane Montgomery seconded and the motion to table was unanimous.
Board members asked staff to return with exact pricing and a recommendation for how remaining costs would be covered before the board votes on the addendum.
