Wade Zimmer, presenting the bond-project status, told the board that work has been limited over the past month because of persistent rain. "All of the piers are complete however 16" of standing water within the concrete trenches, which is being pumped daily, does need to dry out before additional concrete pouring of the slab can commence," Zimmer reported, and he added that about 30 work days have been lost to rain so far.
The board heard that the water in trenches is being actively pumped but slabs cannot be poured until the subgrade and trenches are adequately dry, which has delayed the schedule. No motion or vote was taken; the item remained informational and will be monitored as weather permits. The presentation was given during the Bond Project Update portion of the agenda.
