Planning staff presented specific capital projects for cultural and convention venues as part of the FY2026–2030 CIP, and the commission found the proposals consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
For the BOK Center staff listed three projects: replace and upgrade the hockey dasher system, replace and upgrade digital signage throughout the venue, and build out two additional platinum suites. At the Cox Business Convention Center staff recommended rehabilitation of fire and life safety systems, asbestos abatement, security upgrades (expanded access control and CCTV), renovation of floors connected to a future hotel link, and replacement of stage pit covers and portable stage equipment. The Performing Arts Center projects include exterior step and porch repairs, re‑plumbing of domestic water, dressing room rehabilitation, and replacement/rehabilitation of theatrical switch panels and scrim soft goods.
Staff tied these venue projects to planitulsa goals supporting downtown investment and positioning Tulsa as a regional events hub. The commission’s conformance finding covering the full CIP passed 7‑0‑0.
