The Marshall County Fiscal Court voted July 27 to approve and sign a contract with Graves County Fiscal Court to house Graves County inmates, subject to legal review and Graves County approval.
Commissioner Eddie McGuire moved to "approve and sign the contract between the Marshall County Fiscal Court and the Graves County Fiscal Court for housing Graves County inmates, pending Marshall County Attorney and Graves County approval." Commissioner Marty Barrett seconded the motion; all members voted aye and the motion carried. The minutes record that final execution is dependent on the county attorney’s review and acceptance by Graves County.
The court did not provide contract financial terms, capacity numbers, or an implementation timetable in the meeting minutes. County staff are recorded as responsible for completing the required legal review before the contract is executed.
