The Wales Town Council handled routine business and several departmental updates at its Sept. 2 meeting. After approving the Aug. 5 minutes and payment of August invoices, the council addressed public petitions including requests for water-bill relief and a water-connection postponement. Council members then reported on roads, the library, cemetery signage, town vehicle repairs, and emergency-preparedness storage.
Sean Robison reported recent fire activity and the council discussed drafting a town ordinance on fire safety around buildings, but no ordinance was adopted. Council member James Roberts moved to adjourn at 8:35 p.m.; the motion was seconded by Council member Hayden Nicholes and passed unanimously among members present.
