MCOE hires bilingual school psychologist, expands special education capacity

In her report Dr. Nicole Laddell told the board the special education department added a new, fully bilingual school psychologist and that early education and coaching capacity has expanded now that the team is fully staffed.
Dr. Nicole Laddell told the board that the Mendocino County Office of Education has hired a new school psychologist for its special education team who brings experience from other states and is fully bilingual. "For our special education department, we hired a new school psychologist that comes with a bridal and a wealth of experience ... and she is fully bilingual," Laddell said.
Laddell also noted that early education and care work is expanding, classrooms are being built out and instructional coaches are collaborating with those programs. She said the county's full team increases capacity to support districts and provide more hands-on assistance and big-picture planning from directors.
Board members expressed appreciation for the increased staffing and said the county's training and coaching are among its most valuable services.
