MCOE reports enrollment gains in adult education and community-school programs

Education staff said Carroll Community School increased enrollment after principal Chris Francis helped build local capacity; the report said early-start and state preschool numbers fluctuated but overall adult-education cohorts reopened and showed apparent increases tied to cohort timing. "Our medical assistant program is super popular and, we are at capacity and we almost turn people away into the next cohort," a staff presenter said.
Brooke noted marketing as a key driver—paid digital campaigns and community tabling—reporting that paid promotion, targeted to Mendocino, Lake and northern Sonoma counties, helped reach prospective students and fill short, lower-cost courses like phlebotomy. The board discussed outreach to high schools and career centers and the possibility of an open house for community viewing of adult-education programs.
