Putnam County treasurer reports higher August revenue, General Fund shows negative balance

The Putnam County Board reviewed County Treasurer Kevin Kunkel’s August financial reports showing $210,250.50 in General Fund income for August of fiscal year 2024 compared with $194,390.27 in August 2023. The report lists a General Fund balance of -$20,759.64 for August FY2024, General Fund Savings of $618,015.77, and an Illinois Fund - General Fund balance of $2,112,202.14.
Year-to-date figures in Kunkel’s report showed revenues of $2,924,032.69 and expenses of ($2,779,637.86), for a net balance of $144,394.83. Kunkel reminded the board that the second installment of property taxes was due Sept. 6, 2024. The treasurer’s full financial reports are on file with the County Clerk for review by interested parties.
