The district also announced winners of the MLK 4-Day Celebration art and essay contests, introduced by City of Arlington Director of Community Development Troy Williams.
Dr. Smith cited examples ranging from teachers and coaches who supported Cade Cunningham to visual arts teacher Sharon Miller's recognition as a Cowboys Class Act educator and early childhood programs such as Toddler Time as examples of how district educators support student success.
The recognitions and superintendent's report were presented as positive highlights of district work; no Board action was required.
