"I am overly blessed and so grateful for what I consider to be my dream job," Boone said. "The first thing is to build a complete student athlete mentally, physically, and emotionally."
Boone told trustees he intends to emphasize life beyond sports — preparing students "for that" — while pursuing excellence on the field as a byproduct of that work. Trustees who spoke in favor emphasized his fit with Horn's administration and community, and the motion to hire carried by voice vote.
