City Attorney David Eason told Council he had reviewed the MOAs and asked for additional time to redraft portions to ensure the City’s fiscal certainty, including clarification on the requirement for supplemental funds to be restricted to Medicaid-funded services and guarantees that local entities would receive a full return on initial investments. Chief Pairett said funds would be supported by a documented EMS improvement plan and that remaining revenues would return to the General Fund to offset Fire Department expenditures.
Councilor Sarah Piano moved to authorize the City Manager to accept the MOAs upon the City Attorney's review and to begin IGTs from the General Fund; Councilor Linda Garcia seconded the motion. The roll-call vote was unanimous in favor.
