Board nominates Dr. Cody Whiddon for Panola County Appraisal District seat

Superintendent Devin Tate advised the board that Keith Williams, who "usually is on this board for us," had declined to continue serving on the Panola County Appraisal District board. Tate told trustees he had reached out to suggested names and said Dr. Cody Whiddon "would be happy to serve if he was elected." The board nominated Dr. Whiddon for the appraisal district ballot and approved the nomination by unanimous vote.
Trustee Justin Davis moved to nominate Dr. Whiddon; Trustee Tim Jones seconded. Trustees discussed the value of having a nominee who pays Beckville ISD taxes and knows the community; no dissent recorded.
