Beaumont ISD distributes LifeVacs and Narcan, expands CPR and stop-the-bleed trainings

Nurse Director Kris O'Brien reported that LifeVacs have been distributed to every campus and are located near cafeterias, med kits are being assembled for each site, and small "Stop the Bleed" kits will be provided to teachers. O'Brien said CPR training has been completed for district police and Level III public safety officers, and that CPR classes will be available at the Career Center for students who need them for clinical rotations.
O'Brien also said Narcan has been supplied to all campuses. The district did not announce specific vendor names or costs for the equipment and did not vote on additional health-service purchases at the meeting.
The committee accepted the update as part of its review of health and emergency-response readiness across Beaumont ISD campuses.
