President Casey Travis called the Beckville Independent School District Board of Trustees to order and Superintendent Devin Tate opened administrative reports by saying he wanted to recognize several teachers who "have gone above and beyond." Emily Wood, the elementary principal, presented Shelbi Allen with an "above and beyond" award and reviewed the elementary newsletter: homecoming week starts this week, the campus completed its first benchmark and Wood asked staff to step up sanitization amid increased sickness.
Bryan Stagner, junior high, presented Leslie McAfee with an "above and beyond" award and connected the recognition to STAAR context, saying McAfee "really loves science" and that her students' performance was discussed relative to state scores. Kin Bryan, speaking for the high school, presented Sharon Hastings (Amy Podlewski was noted absent) and reported the high school is an "A" campus with 97% attendance and 198 enrolled. Superintendent Tate thanked the teachers and excused them from the meeting.
