The Bay City ISD board approved a multi-item consent agenda at its March 23 meeting, authorizing the release of a request for proposals for Chromebooks and approving several procurement and administrative items. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by James Scardami and seconded by Trent Tinnin; recorded votes showed four yeas and three absentees.
Items listed on the consent agenda included E-rate Category 1 and Category 2 purchase orders, ratification of 2026–2027 instructional materials certification, and a TEA High Quality Instructional Material (HQIM) purchase order not to exceed $240,000 to be paid from Instructional Material Allotment, Open Resource Entitlement, and grant funding (sole-source vendor). The agenda also authorized a payment to the Matagorda County Tax Office for $8,528.07 as payback for removal of a rendition penalty. The board recorded the approval as: Lora Beth Robicheaux—Yea; James Scardami—Yea; Trent Tinnin—Yea; Jill Westmoreland—Yea (Kenneth Eaton, Priscilla Robinson and Mark West absent).
