Bastrop ISD adds 105 students this year; enrollment projected to top 15,100 by 2030

Hudson Huff of Zonda Education presented the Fall 2025 demographics update, telling the board the district added 105 students for the 2025–26 school year and has grown by more than 2,000 students over the past five years.
Huff said enrollment is projected to surpass about 15,100 students by 2030–31. He described robust residential development in the BISD footprint — 31 active subdivisions, roughly 430 homes in inventory, about 5,400 lots ready for construction and ~22,000 additional lots planned across 18 future subdivisions — and highlighted a major commercial project: an EdgeConneX four–building data center campus expected to bring construction jobs and about 60 permanent positions when the first building opens in June 2026.
To address growth, the district opened new elementary and middle schools in Fall 2025 and plans to open another elementary school funded by a voter‑approved bond.
