Bastrop ISD hires county elections administrator and calls May 2 trustee election

The Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved an agreement with the Bastrop County Elections Administrator to coordinate, supervise and administer the district’s May 2, 2026 election. The contract, presented by Evan Moilan, is intended to ensure consistency and accessibility in voting procedures and polling locations for district voters.
Following the contract approval the board also voted to call the Board of Trustees election for Places 3 and 4 for May 2, 2026. Mr. Moilan noted the candidate filing window runs January 14, 2026 through February 13, 2026. The motion to approve the contract was moved by Ashley Mutschink and seconded by Dr. Matthew Mix; the motion to call the election was moved by Chris M. Dillon and seconded by Dr. Matthew Mix. Both motions carried on unanimous show‑of‑hands votes.
