Following a public hearing, Principal Riza Cooper presented the Cedar Creek Middle School Turnaround Improvement Plan and the board voted unanimously to approve the plan on Nov. 18.
The plan sets explicit accountability targets for May 2026: increase the share of students meeting grade level to 40% in Reading and 32% in Math and raise the campus growth score from 51 to 63. The plan describes interventions including curriculum adjustments, assessment protocols, professional learning and coaching, stakeholder engagement, and regular monitoring by the Academic Leadership Team and district officials.
Ashley Mutschink moved to approve the plan and Priscilla Ruiz seconded; the motion carried on a unanimous show‑of‑hands vote.
