Assistant Superintendent of Finance Becky McManus recommended a revision to Policy CH (Local) to align the district with Senate Bill 1173, which raised the competitive procurement threshold under section 44.031(a) of the Texas Education Code from $50,000 to $100,000. The recommended change delegates authority to the superintendent or designee to make budgeted purchases for goods or services up to $100,000.
Trustee George Barrera moved to approve the policy update, and the motion passed 7-0. The staff also noted a corresponding change will be made to CV (Local) concerning facilities construction procurement thresholds. The board packet referenced Policy Update 126 as the implementing update.
