Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Chloe Yowell told the board that 19 TAC Chapter 74 requires districts to set four Credit by Exam assessment windows. The dates presented for 2026–27 are: Oct. 13, 2026 (registration deadline Sept. 11); Feb. 15, 2027 (deadline Jan. 15); June 2–3, 2027 (deadline April 30); and Aug. 3, 2027 (deadline June 3). "Credit by Exam - 19 TAC Chapter 74 Subchapter C requires school districts to set dates for assessments to be taken for Credit by Exam (CBE) for acceleration," the packet says.
Yowell also updated the board on end-of-course tests: currently, all but seven seniors have met the requirements to graduate via the state accountability system. One transferred student is enrolled in required tested areas and will take EOCs in April; the remainder are receiving individualized tutoring and scheduled to retest.
