Board approves SHAC appointments and new campus clubs

As part of a unanimous consent agenda, the Barbers Hill ISD Board approved appointments to the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) under Texas Education Code 28.004 and approved multiple new campus clubs. The SHAC appointments include community and BHISD representatives (for example, Emily Borne, Pediatric Physician; Ashlee Boothe, Coordinator of State & Federal Programs). The consent motion was made by Trustee Benny May and seconded by Trustee Fred Skinner and passed 7-0.
The board also approved new clubs at several campuses: Barbers Hill High School (Baking Club, Music Club, JROTC Fitness Club, Freedom Club); Middle School North (Academic Pentathlon, Crafty Creations, Eagles with Purpose, North Archers, Random Acts of Kindness); Middle School South (Creative Club); Intermediate School North (Fellowship of Christian Students); plus continuation of "Plugged In: Campus Club Day" activities to give students time to connect with campus sponsors. The board recorded no separate discussion and approved the consent agenda in a single vote.
