The Ballinger ISD Board of Trustees voted Oct. 8 to authorize the use of up to $150,000 in operating funds to purchase a school activity bus and to give the superintendent authority to finalize the purchase through a purchasing cooperative.
Jason Strube moved the measure, and Michelle Aguilera seconded. According to the minutes, the motion "to approve the use of operating funds up to $150,000 and to authorize the superintendent to finalize the purchase of a school activity bus through a purchasing cooperative as presented" passed unanimously. Superintendent Caroline Toliver will complete the purchase under the cooperative terms.
The decision follows routine transportation planning and a separate report from the Board Transportation Committee noted earlier in the meeting. Trustees did not record individual roll-call votes in the minutes; the board recorded the motion as passing unanimously with two trustees absent.
