The Atlanta Independent School District Board of Trustees voted to adopt the 2025–26 compensation plan and the district employee handbook at its Aug. 26 meeting.
Superintendent Jason Harris presented the compensation plan and handbook; Trustee Joel Steger moved to accept the recommendation and Trustee Arlistel Maxie seconded. The minutes record the vote as seven yeas and the motion carried. The published minutes do not include the compensation schedule or handbook text; those documents are maintained by the district administration.
The board also approved related human-resources items during the same meeting (the student and district handbooks were approved and personnel resignations/appointments noted as "no recommendations" after closed session). District staff are the next responsible party for distributing handbook updates to employees and implementing the compensation plan.
