Atlanta ISD board adopts multiple local policy updates and reviews TASB-recommended policies

The Atlanta Independent School District Board of Trustees on Nov. 18 adopted local policy updates CFB(LOCAL) and CH(LOCAL) and approved TASB policy update 126(LOCAL) on the recommendation of Superintendent Jason Harris. Each motion carried unanimously (Yea: 7, Nay: 0, Absent: 0).
During the meeting the board also reviewed a list of TASB-recommended LEGAL policies for informational purposes and noted that LOCAL policies require board action within a posted open meeting. The list of policies reviewed included BE(LOCAL), BED(LOCAL), CJ(LOCAL), CJA(LOCAL), CLE(LOCAL), CQB(LOCAL), CQD(LOCAL), CSA(LOCAL), CV(LOCAL), and others described in the minutes; the minutes record review but do not include the full text of the policy changes.
