Resident urges halt to Flock cameras; police chief says Jerome has none

At the start of citizen correspondence, resident Nathan York addressed the council in opposition to Flock cameras and asked that any existing cameras be disconnected until the community has an opportunity to consent. York told the council “the community should be allowed to speak up and refuse the installation of Flock cameras, especially given the recent abuse by a Jerome County Sheriff,” and expressed concern about data sharing with other agencies.
Police Chief Duane Rubink responded to the public comment, confirming the city does not currently have Flock cameras in place. The exchange ended without council direction to pursue camera removal or a public referendum; the matter may return if further requests or evidence are presented.
