City Engineer Tyson Carpenter requested council approval of a time-and-materials engineering services agreement with J-U-B Engineers, Inc. for construction engineering, surveying and inspection of the Downtown Streetscape project. Carpenter said a July 22 meeting with the Idaho Transportation Department could result in ITD participation and recommended approval of the larger contract amount to avoid calling a special council meeting if ITD agrees to fund part of the work.
Justin Scheel of J-U-B described the firm’s role in construction observation and ensuring ITD requirements and standard engineering practices are followed; he reiterated the agreement covers only work authorized by the city. Councilman Dale Ross moved to approve the agreement and Councilman Jason Peterson seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
